FEATURED PROJECTS

Turned loose on one of our most favorite motorcycles, we build the best CBX we can, while staying true to the original essense of this magnificent machine. This bike got the works - running and performance upgrades seen and unseen in every subsystem on the bike including big-bore pistons, reworked cylinder head, a lightened, balanced crankshaft, and a super quiet Prolink CBX clutch. The chassis and suspension got similar treatment; we used the entire...

Another of the marvelous 82 Pearl Altair White "Prolink" CBXs crossed our path - this one with a scant 10,000 miles put on it before it was parked. As is all too common with the Prolink CBX, it was left on the sidestand, the air leaked out of that feeble stock Showa rear air shock and it toppled over onto its right side, resulting in the damage you see in the early photos, and the busted windshield. Our local paint partner did the honors on the tank a...

Such a fun project. This bike started out tired and thrashed, and so it got the Full Monty, from the crankshaft on up. No stone left unturned!

Yes indeed, the fearsome Widowmaker - a customer is restoring one of these bad boys and sent in much of the engine plus the fork stanchions for vapor blasting. Looking forward to seeing it back together and on the road - he does great projects and I am certain this one will be no exception.

What do you do with a solid but tired 1975 Kawasaki Z1 with non-matching engine and frame? You make a 73 Z1 replica of course!

A great fun project, we acquired this bike in partial trade for the restoration of two other motorcycles, completed earlier this year. The last of the 4 years of the mighty Honda 6-cylinder CBX, the second-generation "Prolink" style, with Honda's first use of a monoshock rear suspension on a street bike. An incredible transformation from the "Universal Japanese Motorcycle" style of the first generation "twin shock" CBX, Honda had the motorcycle world...

Well, we do, that's for sure, or we wouldn't own a half-dozen of these ourselves. This one belongs to a great customer in Indiana, and while he could do most of this project himself in his sleep, American bikes are more his thing and so he sent his CBX to us. This bike had very good bones - a sound chassis with a good fork, a sweet CalFab swingarm, decent bodywork with the exception of a big soft dent in the tank, which we were able to completely remo...

Another example of Honda blowing our motorcycling minds in the early 80s. In 1982 Honda sprung the incredible V65 V-4 liquid-cooled powerplant on the motorcycling world for the first time, in parallel (get it?) with the last gasp of the DOHC 4s as Honda's flagship engine platform. Honda made two versions of the mighty V65 in 1983, including the upright Sabre, with its footpegs squarely under its seat, and a conventional handlebar that gave its pilot a...

We take a tired and homely but very solid engine from a Kawasaki Z1-900 and totally rebuild it - vapor blast the cases, bore for new pistons, redo the entire cylinder head, undercut the transmission gears, rebuild the starter and oil pump, the works. We finished up by polishing and relettering the side cases, and installed new case screws and replated engine bolts. Ready for another 40 years.

A nice change of pace, not our usual fare but we enjoyed it no less. Cool bikes, Honda made scads of them and they were beat and thrashed and loved and abused all over the world, and still are. This bike came in barely running, but complete, reducing the parts hunt somewhat. In the end it got gone-through end to end, rebuilt fork, new wheel bearings, steering head bearings, refinished the hubs, repaired and upgraded a lot of the wiring, new cables, br...

Vapor blasting of aluminum motorcycle components is a specialization, but what we really love is restoring old motorcycles, and helping others to do the same. Please explore our site to learn more about what we do, and be in touch anytime to discuss your project.
