Who doesn't love a '79 Honda CBX?

Updated: Mar 27, 2020

Well, we do, that's for sure, or we wouldn't own a half-dozen of these ourselves. This one belongs to a great customer in Indiana, and while he could do most of this project himself in his sleep, American bikes are more his thing and so he sent his CBX to us. This bike had very good bones - a sound chassis with a good fork, a sweet CalFab swingarm, decent bodywork with the exception of a big soft dent in the tank, which we were able to completely remove using Paintless Dent Removal (PDR). The engine was also in decent shape, with acceptable compression and no other problems we could not address.

Even so the bike needed a lot of restoration work - aftermarket parts were replaced with stock, the hacked-at exhaust was swapped for a decent used set, the suspension and brakes were completely redone, and the frame, fork, wheels, stands, and many other components were all refinished. We had this bike in our shop for about 4 months, and this is what happened in between.
